Pontikos Lie Number Twelve:  “Arthur Kemp lies about Sumer.”

THE LIE:

Pontikos writes: "Sumerians belonged to the Mediterranean and the Eurafrican (mesorrhine, angular, thick-skulled) racial types with a minority of Armenoid racial elements."

THE TRUTH:

Pontikos barely knows much about Greek history, and should really not stray into the history of other countries, as he obviously knows NOTHING about them!

For the civilization known as Sumer did not consist of just one part, but of several phases, stretching over several thousand years, and was comprised of Old European (White Mediterranean); Indo-European Nordic and Semitic elements, sometimes separately, and sometimes together.

In the words of famous historian Dr. J.M. Roberts:

"By about 4000 BC, most of the Fertile Crescent was occupied by Caucasians. Probably Semitic peoples had already begun to penetrate it by them too, their pressure grew until by the middle of the third millennium BC (well after the appearance of civilization) they would be well established in central Mesopotamia, across the middle sections of the Tigris and Euphrates. The interplay and rivalry off the Semitic peoples with the Caucasians, who were able to hang into the higher lands which enclosed Mesopotamia from the north-east, is one continuous  theme that scholars have discerned in the early history of the area. By 2000 BC, the peoples whose languages form part of what is called the 'Indo-European' group  have also entered the scene, and from two directions. One of these peoples,  the Hittites, pushed into Anatolia from Europe, while their advance was matched from the east by that of the Iranians. Between 2000 BC and 1500 BC branches of these sub-units dispute and mingle with the Semitic and Caucasian peoples in the Crescent itself." -ROBERTS, J.M,, The Hutchinson History of the World, Hutchinson Publishing Group, first published 1976, page 62-63.

Indeed, March of the Titans also says this:

"As a result of this continual crossover of civilizations and shared geographical area, the racial distinctions of the peoples became more and more blurred, and towards the close of this epoch it becomes more and more difficult to identify clear racial groups as opposed to named cultures. Ultimately, the disappearance of the distinct racial groupings in the region led to the torch of civilization being passed to what were then more homogeneous societies - first in Egypt and then to the classical Greek and Roman civilizations." - March of the Titans, Chapter 7

Pontikos quotes  "The analysis of Sumerian crania has not shown the presence of Nordics. Sumerians belonged to the Mediterranean and the Eurafrican (mesorrhine, angular, thick-skulled) racial types with a minority of Armenoid racial elements. . . . Reference: . . . Report on the Human Remains Found at Kish. L. H. Dudley Buxton, D. Talbot Rice Journal of the Royal Anthropological Institute of Great Britain and Ireland, Vol. 61. (Jan. - Jun., 1931), pp. 57-119."

A religious ceremonial figure of a Sumerian deity circa 3000 BC, at Tell Asmos, a provincial Sumerian town. The figure is remarkable for it has blue eyes - set with the stone lapis lazuli. This blue stone was greatly prized by the Sumerians, who imported it from its only source, 3200 kilometers away in north Afghanistan. Blue eyes are an exclusively White racial trait.

This reference actually appears in Professor John Baker's book, Race, and is also quoted in March of the Titans, chapter 7, preceded by this sentence:

"The British anthropologists Dudley Buxton and Talbot Rice found skulls among human remains excavated at the Sumerian palace at Kish in Mesopotamia. Similar skulls were found by the French anthropologist H.V. Vallois amongst remains collected at Sialk, halfway between Teheran and Isfahan, north east of Kish; and in the Indus River Valley, R.B.S. Sewell and B.S. Guha of the Zoological Survey of India also found similar skulls: all have been positively identified as belonging to the (now virtually extinct) Mediterranean White sub-race. (Race, John R Baker, Oxford University Press, 1974, page 511)."

So the complete reference from the Baker quote, from where Pontikos took the reference, shows that Mediterranean skull types were found at one location in Mesopotamia. This is perfectly in line with Dr. J.M. Robert's observation above, and March of the Titans, namely that components of the Sumerian civilization were made up out of Mediterranean elements.

The Indo-European tribes who invaded the Middle East did leave their markers behind, as can be seen in the large variety of racial types visible in present day Iran and Iraq. In addition, they left other more tangible evidence of their presence: for example statues with blue eyes, modeled out of lapus lazuli stone.

The reader is left to themselves to decide if Pontikos has lied on this topic or not.
